Bank of Punjab staff gives Rs two million for IDPs

Bank of Punjab (BoP) staff has contributed Rs 2 million for relief and rehabilitation Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) from Swat and adjoining areas, according to a bank's official here on Friday. BoP's President Naeemuddin Khan said the BoP family stands with the people of Swat and every effort would be made to assist the rehabilitation of Swat affectees.
He said the affectees of the crises are confronted with numerous problems and the contribution from staff would help in easing their plight and difficulties. The bank is playing a pivotal role to help and generate funds for IDPs, he added. Traditionally, the staff of the bank has always made a contribution towards the relief efforts whenever a disaster or calamity has struck.
The Bank of Punjab has provided all the logistics in this noble cause in its entire network of 272 branches across the country to facilitate collection of donations. The President of the bank is personally supervising the donation collection effort to augment the efforts of the Punjab government.
