At least four people lost their lives in different incidents across the metropolis on Saturday, police and witnesses said. A 30-year-old young man was found dead around pedestrian bridge near Radio Pakistan, Quaidabad in the wee hours Saturday. Shariyar, son of Danish, who was stabbed to death by unknown assailants, is said to be the resident of Quaidabad.
Later, the body of the deceased was brought to Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for autopsy. The medico-legal sources at JPMC told Business Recorder that the deceased was killed with a sharp-edged instrument. Sources at Shah Latif police station said that the deceased was a drug addict and it is believed that he had committed suicide by drinking poisonous substance.
The police have registered a case on the complain of his father against unknown assailants and further probe is under way. In another incident, Sohrab Goth police claimed to have recovered body of a young man who was slaughtered by unknown culprits near Al-Asif Square, Jamali Goth.
The sources at the police station were of the view that 20-year-old unknown young man is believed to be slaughtered after alleged sexual harassment. In another incident, bullet-riddled body of a 50-year-old man was found in a garbage dump near Zuberi Colony in the limits of Pak Colony police station.
The area residents informed the police when they found their neighbour Hafiz son of Masihullah dead in a garbage dump. Later, the body of the deceased was brought to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for post-mortem, where the medico-legal revealed that the deceased received two bullets in his upper torso that proved fatal. The deceased is said to be the father of five children and running cloth business in the area market. The police have registered a case No 136/09 against unknown assailants.
Meanwhile, a Matric student lost his life while his brother sustained serious injuries when he and his brothers riding on a motorcycle collided with a bus due to overspeeding near Regal Chowk, Saddar. Fifteen-year-old Sultan, son of Mehmood died on the spot while his brother Mohsin, 25, sustained serious injuries. Later, the body of the deceased was taken to Civil Hospital Karachi for autopsy.
