It's government's duty to look after IDPs, says minister

The Sindh Minister for Special Education Syed Ali Nawaz Shah Rizvi has said that people's access to authority was key to resolve the public problems and maintain their confidence and good governance of the government. This he observed while addressing an open katchery here at Circuit House on Monday to hear and resolve the problems of people at their doorstep.
Talking with the media-men, the Minister said that these open katcheries were being held on the special directives of President of Pakistan to resolve the genuine problems of general public and to get feedback from people to ensure good governance. He said that this process would not only minimise the miseries of people but also involve the general public in good governance.
Replying a question, he said that government jobs could not be provided to every unemployed youth because of little quantity whereas the number of unemployed youths had risen up to lacs due to ban imposed by the former government since last twelve years.
However, the current government had decided to provide available jobs on pure merit basis. In addition to that the government had evolved other avenues like providing training to the youths in different fields for earning their livelihood.
Replying to another question, the Minister said that Swat refugees would go back to their homes as normalcy was returned in their areas and it was prime duty of government to look-after the IDPs. He said that President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari had approved many mega-development projects in the best interest of general public. He said that strict action would be taken against those officials who were not present during the open katchery.
Earlier during the open kutchery, people complained about the shortage of water, and electricity. Wasa authorities informed the Minister that due to load shedding of power, the authority was unable to provide water and assured that as soon as the situation improved uninterrupted water would be supplied to every area.
In a complain of an aged widow regarding her home, the Minister directed EDO Revenue Hyderabad to solve the problem and report him immediately. Acting District President PPP Hyderabad Amanullah Siyal and party workers were also present on the occasion.
