03 Jun, 2009

Former Prime Minister of AJK and President of People's Muslim League, Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry asked the Pakistani and Kashmiri community in Holland to vote for the candidates in European Parliament's election who support the Kashmir cause. According to a message received here from Holland on Tuesday, he made these remarks while addressing at a reception hosted in his honour at Kashmir Centre, The Hague.
Besides others, the reception was attended by the Pakistan's High Commissioner to Holland Chaudhry Azaz Ahmed. Barrister Sultan Mehmood said these elections had greater importance for the Kashmiris as besides several resolutions over the Kashmir problem, the European Parliament had passed the Baroness Emma Nicholson report on Kashmir with an overwhelming majority, a couple of years ago.
Holland's capital has great significance because from here the Kashmir issue can be raised not only to the International Court of Justice but also in Holland's Parliament and other forums, he said. The former AJK premier said people were gathering at PML's platform because they had started realising now that this was the only party, which had raised the Kashmir issue at the international level. Speaking on the occasion Chaudhry Azaz said that Pakistan was fulfilling its responsibilities for highlighting the Kashmir issue at the international level.
