Rehabilitation of IDPs is top priority of government: Kundi

Due to geo-strategic location of Dera Ismail Khan, it is the worst effected area due to terrorist activities, target killings and sectarian violence. Rehabilitation of the affected people of D.I Khan is top priority of the government said the Acting Speaker National Assembly Faisal karim kundi, while talking to a delegation of representatives of social organisations from D.I Khan in Parliament House on Wednesday.
Talking to the delegation, Kundi attributed such activities to militants engaged in anti-state activities in FATA, who were trying to ruin peace and prosperity of the area. He said that federal as well as provincial government had adopted stringent measures to check intrusion of miscreants. He urged the public to remain vigilant, identify such elements and cooperate with the law enforcement agencies.
The Acting Speaker assured the delegation that rehabilitation of effected people of D.I Khan was on top priority of the government. He said the govt has released substantial funds for distribution amongst the affected people. He informed the delegation that socio-economic uplift, infrastructure development and development of irrigation infrastructure was priority of the govt. Kundi informed the delegation that substantial funds would be allocated for rehabilitation of IDPs in PSDP 2009-10. The delegation apprised Kundi about the problems of their area.-PR
