Thank you, Mr Minister

06 Jun, 2009

Ever since the PPP government came into power after general election held in February 2008, the people have been in for trouble and more trouble one after the other in an unending manner.
There is quite visible contradiction and conflict as well as absolute lack of co-ordination, co-operation and comprehension between the members of the largest ever Federal Cabinet, what to talk about good governance which seems a farthest cry in the wilderness.
Of all the problems facing the people, lingering power loadshedding for longer durations seems to be major "contribution of the present regime" which has virtually brought the commercial and industrial production all over the country to a grinding halt, which is indeed very unfortunate, deplorable and shameful.
Only the other day, the Federal Minister for Water and Power, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf was kind enough to state he would take full responsibility if there is loadshedding anywhere in the country after December 2009. But who has so far been running the Ministry of Water and Power and whom the poor people suffering from loadshedding constantly should be made accountable for this miserably poor performance?
But still this is to say, Thank you, Mr Minister, for showing enough moral courage and political wisdom to state that you will take full responsibility if loadshedding continues even after December 2009. Will the lingering loadshedding for long hours in urban and rural areas just end since the Federal Water and Power Minister has said so for any apparent measures to generate additional power and minimise electricity consumption quite unnecessarily?
