Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 155,937 tonnes of cargo including 121,059 tonnes of import and 34,878 tonnes of export; 6,029 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Saturday. The freights comprised of 85,558 tonnes of dry cargo including 46,740 tonnes of general cargo; 28,292 tonnes of coal; 253 tonnes of logs; 8,281 tonnes of cement and 70,379 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Six ships namely viz Alexi III, POS Harmony, Petersfield, Gizemdeniz Sultan, Wan Hai 510 and B B C Japan carrying bulk, general cargo, tankers, containers and general cargo sailed out to sea during the reported period. Seven vessels namely OOCL Osaka, Dawei, B B C Japan, C E Pacific, Bright Ace, Energy Pride, PAC Antlia and Providence are currently at the berths to load/off load containers, general cargo, tankers, general cargo, tanker, container and general cargo respectively during 24 working hours.
Five ships namely PAC Antlia, Providence, Sari, Drake and Pacific Arrow are expected to sail on Saturday. While four more vessels viz C E Pacific, OOCL Osaka, Pulau Cebu and Thuringia Express due to arrive on Sunday. Seven ships namely M T Johar, Thuringia Express, Apl Balboa, Hanjin Ningbo, Kota Handal, Triton Stork and Iron Butterfly carrying crude oil, containers, canola seeds, and project cargo are due to arrive on Saturday.
While thirteen more vessels Manon, Atlantik Miracle, Bow Ophelia, H & H Wave, Thomas Mann, Mol Ability, Bunga Raya Dua, Shayan 1, Y M Inventive, Ocean Island, Raysut 1 Bulk Arrow and Courier carrying jet oil, molasses, base oil, containers, coal, cement and general cargo respectively on Sunday.

Three ships namely M T Cape Tees, C V OOCL Kobe and C V Saudi Abha sailed out to sea during last 24 hours. While two more ships viz M V Samjohn Light and C V Maersk Novazzano are expected to sail on the same day. Eight ships namely M V Maersk Novazzano, C V Saudi Abha, M V Green Line, MV Andinet, M V Syria Star, M V Samjohn Light, M T Cape Tees and M V Iran Azarbaijan are currently occupying the berths to load/off load containers, cement, canola seeds, diesel oil and iron ore at PQA Terminal during reported period respectively.
Thirteen vessels namely MSC Margali, MSC Manila, MSC Katherine Ann, CMA CGM Azure, Shaheen Al-Ghanim, St. Kitts, Eastern Amenity, Wales-II, Suezo, Rimar, Orient-II, Al-Aqeela-1 and She Bele carrying containers, clinker, LPG, Palm oil and cement are currently at the outer anchorage.
Six ships namely C V Margali, C V CMA CGM Azure, M V Orient-II, M T St. Kitts, M T Eastern Amenity and M V B B C Japan scheduled to load/off load containers, cement, project cargo, LPG and palm oil are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Engro Terminal and Liquid Terminal respectively on Saturday.
