Bangladesh boosts security for judges after threats

Bangladesh has stepped up security for the country's judges and courts following threats by Islamic militants, the law minister said Monday. Shafiq Ahmed told AFP the move followed an "intelligence report" that the outlawed Jamayetul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) was planning attacks on the judges, judicial officials and courts.
"The home ministry is stepping up security for the higher and lower court judges, judicial officials and courts across the country. All precautions are being taken to ensure their safety and security," he said.
