Kashmiris sit-in, demonstrate outside UN office

The Kashmiris have staged a demonstration and a sit-in in Islamabad, protesting against the rape and murder of two innocent Kashmiri women by Indian occupation troops in occupied Kashmir (IoK). The demonstration and sit in was organised by Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) Chapter of All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) on Tuesday in front of the United Nations offices in Islamabad.
Senior Kashmiri Hurriyet leader Mehmood Ahmed Saghar led the protest sit-in, while people from all walks of life participated in the protest demo and sit-in. Prominent among them were Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Maulana Ghulam Nabi Nowsheri, Dr Abdul Aala, Shaukat Ahmad Butt, Abdul Hameed Lone, Syed Yousaf Naseem, Mir Tahir Masood, Abdul Majeed Malik, Sheikh Muhammad Yaqoob, Manzoor-ul- Haq Butt, Nisar Mirza, Altaf Hussain Wani, Khadim Hussain, Tufail Altaf Butt, Muzaffar Hussain Shah, Ishtiaq Hameed, Rafiq Ahmad Dar and Pervez Ahmad Shah.
Speaking on the occasion, Kashmiri leaders said that the entire Kashmiri nation had been shocked by Shopian incident, in which innocent Kashmiri women were made target of state terrorism. "Occupation forces are using every tactic to weaken the liberation movement, but the people of Kashmir would continue their struggle for the right of self-determination till its logical conclusion," they said.
They appealed to the world community and international human rights organisations to play their role in stopping the Indian atrocities against innocent Kashmiris, help and resolve the long-standing dispute of Kashmir in accordance with Kashmiris' aspirations. The speakers also demanded of the United Nations to appoint its representative in occupied Kashmir to review the human rights situation there.
