Infrastructure development top priority: Shahbaz

Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, has said that government is paying special attention to infrastructure development and a number of projects are being executed in the province. He said that Chinese companies could extend co-operation in the implementation of Lahore Ring Road, Gulberg Parking Plaza, Rawalpindi Expressways and other projects.
He was addressing a meeting held to review Lahore Ring Road project, here Tuesday. Chief Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, especially participated in the meeting. Advisor Saeed Mehdi, General Zia-ud-Din (Retd), Chairman Planning and Development, Secretary Communication and Works, Director General LDA and a NESPAK representative were present.
The representative of a leading construction company of China Xinjiang Beixien XJBX gave a detailed briefing regarding construction projects executed by his company. The CM said that improvement of infrastructure was of vital importance for rapid development of the province and promotion of economic activities.
He said that Punjab government had adopted an effective strategy in this regard and huge funds were being spent on infrastructure development in the province. He said that Xinjiang Beixien XJBX completed a ring road project in China within only ten months, whereas Lahore Ring Road Project has been in pending for the last ten years.
