University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) inked MoUs with ROZEE.PK and Lok Sanjh Foundation, Islamabad to strengthen its external linkages and enable graduates for employment in public and private sector. Both ceremonies were held at VC's Chamber on Thursday morning.
According to MOU, the ROZEE.PK will develop a web portal enabling UAF Career Development Office more efficiently automate and manage interaction between students, employers and alumni. Highlighting the activities of ROZEE.PK Zaeem Yaqoob Khan Director University Relations said that 19,000 global employers are linked with ROZEE.PK and 56 per cent of their newly employed workforce got employment through this website.
He told the VC that 45 Higher Education Institutes of the country have signed MOUs with this website and about 0.5 million people have been registered during the last 5 years. The other MOU between UAF and Lok Sanjh Foundation, Islamabad will address the mutual co-operation in collaborative efforts in R&D, knowledge based development and dissemination, and capacity building issues of ecological and sustainable agriculture between both parties.
The UAF will facilitate the foundation in organising national/international seminars, workshops, conference, forums, capacity building, and training programmes at UAF. The foundation will develop joint project proposals and undertake projects jointly especially in collaboration with Faculty of Agriculture, Economics and Rural Sociology when and where opportunities arises and facilitate the UAF students of various departments in their internship programme.
Further the foundation will arrange visits of university professors in Saarc countries for sharing experience on ecological and sustainable agricultural practices. UAF vice chancellor Professor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan signed both MOUs with Zaeem Yaqoob Khan Director University Relations of ROZEE.PK and Dr Farzana Shahid Executive Director from Lok Sanjh Foundation, Islamabad in separate ceremonies.
Chaudhry Muhammad Hussain Registrar, Dr Asif Ali Director External Linkages, Dr Muhammad Jalal Arif Principal Officer PRP, Dr Anjum Sohail Senior Tutor/Focal Person (CDC) and Deans Directors of the university were present in the ceremonies. Career Development Officer Aziz Iqbal, and Programme Officer Miss Asif Naz were also present on the occasion.
