Crackdown against black marketeers of urea fertiliser launched

On the instructions of Chief Minister Punjab, crack down against black marketers and profiteers of urea fertilizer has been launched in the district for redressing the farmers hardships regarding availability of urea fertilisers. In this regard, the agriculture officer along with police force conducted raids in different areas and caught five dealers on the charge of hoarding and over pricing of the urea fertiliser.
District Officer Agriculture Chaudhry Abdul Hameed said that during different raids two hundred bags of urea fertiliser were recovered from Muhammad Imran of Chak No 39 G.B. and Sh. Munir of grain Market Jaranwala while 118 bags recovered from Ghulam Nabi of Chako Mor Jaranwala which were stored illegally.
He said that action had been taken against Muhammad Ramzan of Chak No 75 G. B. and Muhammad Aslam of Chak Jhumra on charge of over price. He said that case had been registered against the defaulters with the concerned police stations. D O Agriculture warned the fertiliser dealers to refrain from over charging and hoarding of the urea fertiliser and to keep ready all the concerned record; and stock for verification otherwise, defaulters would be dealt with iron hand.
