Women's Parliamentary Caucus visits IDPs camp

Media Advisor to co-chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Asif Ali Zardari, Farah Naz Isphani, MNA, visited Shah Mansoor Camp and Hospital in Sawabi along with a delegation of the Women's Parliamentary Caucus. Nafisa Shah, Secretary of the Women's Parliamentary Caucus, co-ordinated the visit.
The delegation comprised of Shahnaz Saleem (PML-N), Parveen Masood Bhatti (PML-N), Khursheed Begum (ANP), Mehrunissa Afridi (PPP) and Surriya Asghar (PML-N). The delegation carrying clothes, food items for new-borns, children and women also visited the field hospital, which is being run under the auspices of the Speaker National Assembly Dr Fehmida Mirza. Volunteer doctors and paramedics are running the hospital.
Farah Naz Isphani reiterated the commitment of the Government to make all possible efforts for the protection of the women and the children, especially, in the IDPs camps. She said that we were extremely concerned about the needs of the children and the women inhabiting these camps.
While commenting on reports of suspension of work by UN and foreign Missions in Peshawar, she said that through such terrorist activities, the militants were aiming at intimidating the workers who were engaged in relief activities.-PR
