Four worshipers were killed and 92 others maimed in another suicide attack on Friday prayers in a mosque in Nowshera Cantonment on Friday. The targeted mosque is situated near Supply Depot of the security forces in the cantonment area of the city. The suicide bombers dashed the explosive-laden vehicle against the mosque, resulting in the killing of four worshipers on the spot, while 92 others sustained injuries.
They were rushed to the nearby Combined Military Hospital (CMH). Due to the intensity of the blast, the roof of the mosque has been collapsed, while the nearby houses and vehicles, parked outside the mosque, were also damaged. It was second the consecutive strike on the Friday prayers in the province where the security forces are carrying operation against militants.
The consecutive terrorist incidents, including suicide bombings and firing incidents, panicked the provincial metropolis. People are avoiding visiting the bazaars, resulting in the decline of business activities, while investors, having no other option but to migrate to other parts of the country. In the wake of the persistent strike of terrorists, the security of the mosques in Peshawar city and Cantonment areas has been tightened.
Meanwhile, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has claimed killing at least 39 extremists during the last 24 hours of the operation "Rah-e-Raast" in various areas of Malakand region. Ten soldiers embraced Shahadat and 24 others were injured. The forces, hunting for militants in district Swat, had also found a fresh dug area in Shalhosar, Peochar, and likely a mass grave where apparently some terrorists are buried there.
