DCO Saeed Wahlah said that educated youngsters were a precious asset of our nation. They could play their role in the development and progress of the country by using their knowledge and qualities. He said that the government had provided an opportunity for career planning to Masters degree holders, through a national internship programme, to enhance their professional skills through internships in different departments.
He said this while addressing an orientation meeting, held at the Nusrat Fateh Ali Auditorium. EDO Finance Iqbal Hussain, Senior Admn. Officer Liaqat Chatha, EDOs of different departments, Dos and focal persons were also present. The DCO welcomed the internees and said that the basic purpose of the National Internship Programme was to provide opportunities of excelling, with financial support of Rs 10,000/- per month to the internees.
He also said that the internees must learn official and administrative work so that they may choose the right direction for their future. He commented that they prove their worth while serving in the offices. He urged the focal persons, government offices to polish the abilities of the internees.
Senior Admn. Officer, Liaqat Chatha, informed them of the rules and regulations of official work and said that about three thousand internees would be provided to the District government during the second phase and a list of 1123 internees had been received so far, which had been placed in 30 different offices. He told the focal persons to prepare a working plan for the training of internees and taking official work from them.
