17 Jun, 2009

All Pakistan's Clerks Association (APCA) has rejected the 15 percent ad-hoc allowance, or increase in salaries, describing it a peanut-increase and decided to hold rallies and observe pen-down strike across the country. On Tuesday, a big rally was organised by the employees of grade one to 15 of Government, semi-government departments.
The rally was led by Abdul Razzaq Baloch, Rashid Hussain, Rana Iqbal Noon, Khalid Qureshi, Wazir Malik Ghulam Qasim Bhutta, Ishaque Mayo, Dr Aslam Chauhan, Qari Muhammad Tariq, and Mehtab Qureshi. They shouted slogans against the Government and in favour of their demand. They demanded an increase of 200 percent in the salaries, a 100 percent increase in Conveyance allowance, 60 percent increase in house rent, restoration of selection grade, ending the contract policy, and the regularisation of contract employees.
