The district police arrested two gangs of dacoits and recovered looted goods worth millions of rupees, said DPO Dr Muhammad Rizwan on Tuesday. He said that seven members of the gangs have been arrested with six cars, six motorcycles, four Kalashnikovs, four pistols, 86 litres of liquor and six cell phones have been seized from them.
The district police chief said that he had been perturbed over increasing incidents of bike snatching and constituted several teams to encircle and apprehend them. He said that the district police have been activated to minimise crime across the district. He said when the government is taking care of the police personnel by increasing their emoluments it is their duty to deliver.
