The Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Karachi has decided to establish an inquiry cell at the entrance of the board office to eradicate corruption from the BSE. The new management of the BSE received many complaints regarding corruption in the board due to which it finally decided to set up inquiry office.
The administration also decided to take stern action against the officials involved, Hoor Mazhar Secretary BSE, Karachi told Business recorder on Tuesday. She said that the management had received complaints from visiting students regarding corruption at different sections of the board. To eradicate corruption the board made massive reshuffling and suspended many officials to root out the menace in education sector, she added.
She said after induction of new administration, the board had transferred and suspended more than 90 senior officials from their post when found guilty in different corruption cases. "The department received many complaints of corruption and bribery and decided to take stern action against the official involved," she said.
She argued the chairman of board had allowed new administration to establish inquiry office outside the gate where every visitor would be checked and his name and purpose of meeting would be mentioned in the logbook. "There are two purpose of establishing inquiry office: first to ensure safety to the staffers and secondly to chase the corrupt officials," she added. She said the board had decided to launch campaign against the officials involved in such practices to restore the status of BSE, Karachi.
