Advisory to cotton growers against CLCV

The white fly spreads virus in cotton plants requiring remedial measures to contain it. EDO Agriculture Shahzad Sabir, while talking to a group of farmers on Wednesday, advised them to take precautionary steps to prevent the spread of cotton leaf curl virus (CLCV).
He stressed that virus-affected cotton plants ought to be extirpated, besides elimination of weeds from the cotton fields as these serve as hosts for virus and insects. The growers were advised to meticulously hoe the cotton fields so that they could get a good production.
