NWFP fixes registration fee for private hospitals

Health Regulatory Authority (HRA) of the Department of Health NWFP has notified the registration and renewal fee for various categories of health institutions/health providers in private health sector with immediate effect.
The notification says that from Ist January to 31st December, the registration fee for hospital is Rs 250 per bed and Rs 500 per room and renewal is Rs 250 per bed and Rs 500 per room, Operation Theatre fee is Rs 10,000 while renewal fee is Rs 10,000, specialist clinic is Rs 5000 and renewal 3000, general practitioner is Rs 1000, renewal is 1000, clinic laboratory Category-D (routine tests) is Rs 1,000 and renewal fee is Rs 1,000, clinical laboratory category-C (Blood sugar and routine tests) is Rs 2,000 and renewal fee is Rs 2,000, clinical laboratory category-B (Immunology, Chemistry, Haematology routine tests) is Rs 3,000 and renewal is Rs 3,000, Clinical Laboratory Category-A (Immunology, Chemistry, Haematology, Histopathology and Microbiology) is Rs 4,000 and renewal is Rs 4,000, X-Ray clinic fees is Rs 5,000 and renewal is Rs 3,000, Ultrasound clinic is Rs 5,000 and renewal is Rs 3,000, CT Scan is Rs 5,000 and renewal is Rs 5,000, Dental Clinic is Rs 1,000 and renewal is Rs 1,000, Dental Clinic (Specialist) is Rs 5,000 and renewal fee is Rs 3,000, ECG is Rs 1,000 and renewal is Rs 1,000, ETT is Rs 1,000 and renewal is Rs 1,000, Echocardiography is Rs 5,000 and renewal is Rs 3,000, Maternity Home is Rs 5,000 and renewal is Rs 3,000, Physiotherapy Clinic is Rs 5,000 and renewal is Rs 3,000, Homeopathic Clinic registered with National Homeopathic Council Islamabad is Rs 1,000 and renewal is Rs 1,000, Specialists Homeopathic Clinic registered with National Homeopathic Council Islamabad is Rs 5,000 and renewal is Rs 5000, Tibb (Hakeemi) clinic qualified and registered with National Tibb Council Islamabad is Rs 1,000 and renewal is Rs 1,000, Specialist Tibb (Hakeemi) clinic qualified and registered with National Tibb Council Islamabad is Rs 5,000 and renewal is Rs 5,000, Paramedic Institution is Rs 10,000 and renewal is Rs 5,000, Corporate Company providing healthcare staff is Rs 10,000 and renewal is Rs 5,000, enrolment of paramedic is Rs 1,000, provision of license/permit for paramedic is Rs 500 and renewal is Rs 500, Audiometric Clinic is Rs 1,000 and renewal is Rs 1,000, Blood Transfusion Services for Thalasemic patient is Rs 250 Bed and renewal is Rs 250 Bed.
Moreover, the fees described above are for calendar year from January to December and are due on Ist January of each year. In case of late payment of registration/renewal fee the schedule shall apply in accordance with sub-section (4) of section 24 of the Ordinance with a penalty equal to half of the renewal fee, if the application is made within one month; a penalty equal to the renewal fee, if the application is made within two months; a penalty equal to three times of the renewal fee, if the application is made within three months; from the last date on which the renewal was due.
The notification further says that each application for registration/renewal shall accompanied by a remittance of full prescribed amount in the name of the authority in notified schedule bank of the authority.
The annual increase of 10 percent in the registration fee shall be applicable for all the facilities and health institutions. The facilities in hospital shall be registered separately; Laboratory shall require separate registration and similarly X-Ray and other facilities will be charged and registered separately.
