LHC Chief Justice directs SP to appear on June 23

The Chief Justice Lahore High Court (LHC) here on Friday directed SP, Model Town to appear on June 23 with the nobles of the area to get their independent opinions about functioning of a religious institution in Shadman. The Chief Justice had taken notice on a complaint against a person Muhammad Aqib Asghar for creating hurdles in the smooth running of Quran Institute.
On the court's direction the SP appeared and informed the court that it was a religious issue so it will be appropriate to get the opinion of the locals. The complainant contended that he was running a Quran Institute in Shadman for the last ten years and parting religious education to the people at large but Aqib was unlawfully creating hurdles in the smooth running of the institution. Inspite of several applications to the local police no protection has been provided and the applicant was being deprived of legal as well as constitutional right to run an Islamic Institution.
