Senate Deputy Chairman Jan Muhammad Khan Jamali Saturday called for a review of the security plan in the capital as the issue was raised in the House. Jamali said Interior Minister Rehman Malik and Inspector General Police Islamabad should consider reviewing the security plan as the existing network of road barriers in the city was causing hardship to the citizens.
He said vehicles in large number were stuck at different points daily on the city's roads due to the security hurdles. Earlier Senator Zafar Ali Shah raised the issue on a point of order, drawing the attention of the House towards the traffic jams caused by the road barriers in Islamabad. The PML-N Senator said that such traffic jams could be exploited by miscreants for sabotage. On the other hand the long rows of vehicles awaiting clearance caused wastage of fuel.
