Nazim Karachi Syed Mustafa Kamal has said that with the construction of Nasir Hussain Shaheed Family Park, the Nazim Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town Wasey Jalil has presented a model of parks constructed so far. He was speaking at the inauguration of the newly constructed park in Block-2, Gulshan-e-Iqbal here at a colourful ceremony held on Saturday night.
After the inauguration a grand fireworks show was held and a beautiful documentary prepared on the park was screened. In his address Nazim Mustafa Kamal said that some so-called political people charge us with destabilising the country.
He pointed out that today Balochistan and NWFP provinces are under fire, and Punjab is under threat of terrorism and if there is peace anywhere that is in Sindh and especially in Karachi.
He said that Karachiites are peaceful people and the city is fast developing and it is for the people to decide who is destabilising the country. Mustafa Kamal informed that city government is constructing a new road from Super Highway to Airport through which the people could reach the airport in minutes.
He referred to the construction of flyovers and underpasses and said these solved the problems of traffic jams and Signal-free Corridor-III will also be completed soon.
He described the construction of Preedy Street an achievement of city government which has greatly facilitated the traffic to pass through Saddar. "We want to solve every problem of the people and are working day and night for this purpose", he said. He said that 62 years have passed since the creation of Pakistan and he can claim that no government ever solved the problems with the speed at which the present Haq Parast government is doing.
"This all is the training of MQM Chief Altaf Hussian," Mustafa Kamal said and added that if humanity is to be explained, then look at the service being provided by Haq Parast.
He extended felicitations to all on the construction of this park and paid tributes to all those who worked day and night for its construction. Speaking on the occasion Town Nazim Wasey Jalil said that this park has been named after Nasir Hussain Shaheed, elder brother of Altaf Hussain who was martyred along with his son in the 1992 operation. He said this park has been named after him to remember his and his family's sacrifices.
He said the park has been constructed on an area of 3 acres at a cost of Rs 35 million. It has beautiful swings for children, jogging track, skating yard besides the unique feature of a space provided where families could hold Barbecue and other small programmes. Now it is your responsibility to protect this park, he told the residents.
