Senior officers hold open courts to redress public grievances

In pursuance of directions of Punjab Chief Minister, senior officials of the provincial government continue to hold open courts in a bid to redress the public grievances. Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif directed the senior officers of different departments/autonomous bodies to hold open courts every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8am to 10am.
On Monday, the Chief Secretary, administrative secretaries and other senior officials held open courts in the premises of their offices. They heard public grievances and issued necessary orders. Health Secretary Anwar Ahmad Khan and Special Secretary Health Captain Saeed Ahmad Nawaz (Retd) held an open kutchery in the Health Department listened to the problems of people and issued orders for their solution.
Majority of the applicants was employees of the Health Department who sought help of the authorities for resolution of their problems relating to the postings and transfers and other service matters. A woman Medical Officer Dr Taiba Akram from Bahawalpur, who had earlier tendered her resignation, requested that her resignation may not be accepted, as she wants to join the service.
Special Secretary Health directed the concerned officers to process her case and if her resignation was not earlier accepted, the request must be entertained. A few people also appeared in open court requesting for better treatment and care for their patients admitted in the hospitals. The Secretary and Special Secretary directed the Medical Superintendents to pay special attention to patients.
