Car lifters' gang busted, illegal weapons, six cars seized

Anti Vehicles Lifting Staff has unearthed a gang of car lifters and recovered six cars and illegal weapons from the members of the gang. During the initial investigation, the three arrested culprits have revealed committing as many as 50 acts of vehicles stealing in city.
According to the details, the Capital City Police Officer, Muhammad Pervez Rathore, directed DIG Investigation Lahore Dr Shoaib Dastageer to take strict action to eradicate acts of car stealing from the city, upon which a special team was deputed, headed by SP CRO Faisal Gulzar and DSP Anti Vehicles Lifting Staff Lahore Rashid Mehmood Sindhu and other officials. After the special Anti Vehicle Lifting Staff was successful in arresting four culprits of Enforance Peter Car stealing gang.
The modus operandi of the culprits was that they used to rent cars, especially Corolla XLI, from different cities and would roam about in various streets of different areas and, wherever they would spot a vehicle of their choice, they would steal it with the help of a master key.
After stealing cars, they would reach a resident of Peshawar, Shahzad Khan Pathan, to whom they would sell the vehicles on cheaper rates. The criminals are history-sheeters. The areas in which these thieves have committed crime include: North Cantt, Civil Lines, Islampura, Samnabad, Old Anarkali, Lower Mall, Johar Town, Sanda, Iqbal Town, Nawankot.
As many as 47 other cases have also been traced against the culprits in police stations Defence A, Defence B, Sattokalta, Sabzazar, Hanjerwall, Misri Shah, New Anar Kali, Gulberg, Samnabad and Baghbanpura. Police have recovered six cars, three pistols and bullets from their possession. The arrested were identified as ringleader Enforance Peter alias Asif, Nazakat Ali, Ghazanfar Shah alias Pappu and Rustam Ali. A special team has also been constituted for the arrest of remaining culprits and further investigation is underway.
