A dacoit was killed and four of his accomplices were arrested in injured condition by police after an encounter near Metrovil on Monday. The alleged dacoits were fleeing the crime scene after looting a mobile phone shop, when police received information about the incident.
A police party chased the dacoits and after a brief encounter arrested all the five dacoits in injured condition. One of them succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital. The body and three other were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for treatment while the fourth one was handed over to police after thorough medical examination.
Mehboob Hussain, 35, died while Ismail, 30, son of Ibrahim, Wajid Ali, 38, son of Gohar and Eid Hussain were under treatment in ASH. However, Nisar Hussain, 30, son of Sarwar Hussain was handed over to police authorities after treatment. The Station House Officer (SHO) of Site Police Station Rao Rafique told Business Recorder that the bandits are fleeing after looting Rs 1 lac and 24 thousand cash, eight mobile phones, sim cards and scratch cards from a mobile shop located in Metrovil, Site area.
After a brief encounter, police recovered the looted materials and arrested all the five members of the group, Rao said, adding that one of them died on the way to hospital. "All of the them hailed from Khurram Agency, Parachinar and were the residents of Gulistan-e-Jauhar and Pehlwan Goth," he added. He said five pistols, 28 rounds, MPT and five rounds were also recovered from their possession.
