Malaysian shares down

Malaysian shares closed down 0.1 percent on Tuesday on profit-taking, reversing recent gains, dealers said. The Kuala Lumpur Composite Index lost 0.6 points to close at 1,075.24 on volume of 1.29 billion shares worth 1.36 billion ringgit (386.41 million dollars). There were 232 gainers, 371 losers and 231 trading unchanged. Among decliners, UEM Land slid 4.9 percent to 1.56 ringgit. On the upside, Maybank rose 0.9 percent to 5.90 ringgit.
