LHC summons top police official today

Chief Justice, Lahore High Court (LHC), here on Wednesday observed that police have assigned the duty of protecting people, but they are only protecting themselves by taking shelter behind barricaded offices, which have multiplied people's miseries by blocking roads in the name of security, as law of the land does not permit to obstruct roads.' CJ went on to say that security conditions have improved due to armed forces' sacrifices they are rendering to save the country.
There are also reports that terrorists' network might has been broken, he said. The Advocate General Punjab (AGP), Raza Farooq, pleaded that in-camera proceedings might be held keeping in view the sensitivity involved in the case.
Responding to AGP's request CJ said, 'read out report in an open court so that people could know about what is going on in the country. CJ, however, after going through the report accepted AGP request and decided to hold in-camera proceeding from Thursday (today). DIG Operations, SSP Operations, CCPO Lahore appeared before the court but the IGP could not turn up due to some engagement.
