Seven militants killed, 12 Lashkar men martyred in Mohmand Agency

The clashes broke out between the Qaumi Lashkar and militants in Ambar tehsil of Mohmand agency on Saturday left at least seven militants dead and 12 Lashkar men (Razakars-volunteers) martyred while 16 tribesmen are still missing.
The fighting took place in remote Papokha area of Ambar Tehsil when armed militants attacked the Razakars of the Lashkar to take revenge of their destruction at the hands of the Lashkar in the agency during last one week, an official of the administration confirmed the fighting. Dozens of militants attacked the tribesmen after receiving a warning from leading tribal elders to leave the area, the official added.
The Political administration, he said, has also announced Rs 100,000 each for the martyred tribesman. The official reports said that at least 12 Razakars have been martyred in the lethal attack while seven militants perished and five injured in the gun battle. The Razakars who died are Baacha Khan, Qabil Khan, Zarwali Maula, Ali Rehman, Masood, Misal Khan, Hazrat Baacha, Gul Baacha, Lal Gul, Hazrat Shah, Taza Khan and son of Sher Muhammad.
There are also reports of some sixteen tribesmen missing after the bloody clash who included three tribal elders namely Malik Sahib Khan, Malik Akbar Khan and Malik Sabz Ali Khan. Meanwhile, Assistant Political Agent chaired a jirga at Agency Headquarters Ghalanai which was participated by 250 Razakars and tribal elders.
