Hoti calls for collective approach to win war against insurgents

Chief Minister NWFP Ameer Haider Khan Hoti has said that completion of mega projects like Abdul Wali Khan University, Bacha Khan Medical College, Benazir Shaheed Children Hospital and Mardan-Swabi bypass would play a pivotal role in bringing District Mardan at par with the developed cities of the country.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony of the construction work of Kalpani Bridge Kas Kooruna at the Chief Minister House in Mardan, Ameer Haider Khan Hoti said that classes would be started in Bacha Khan Medical College by October 2009 adding that rehabilitation and reconstruction of District Headquarters Hospital Mardan has been included in the Annual Development Programme of the current fiscal year for which Rs 100 million has been earmarked.
Similarly, he added that the initial estimated cost of Benazir Shaheed Children Hospital, which would be constructed in district Mardan, was rupees one billion. The timely completion of uplift schemes including drinking water, sui-gas and sanitation projects at union council level would bring better change in the lives of the people of Mardan. The estimated cost of Kalpani Bridge, which would be completed by 2010, stands at Rs 60 million.
Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti said that the present coalition government has been working jointly to initiate developmental projects in the province besides resolving the number of challenges and problems being faced by the province. He said that keeping in view the present security condition of the province all political parties should display unity in their ranks adding that the present government opted for a tough decision to flush out militants from the motherland and was therefore confronting the critical problems.
However, he went on to add that people have given heavy mandate to the present government and held an assurance that the government would leave no stone unturned in living up to the masses' expectations. Hoti reiterated his commitment to continue the struggle for the welfare of the Pukhtoon's community and resolving the challenges being faced by them adding that the Pukhtoons were passing through the critical times of the history.
The Chief Minister maintained that unity and collective approach was required for victory in the war against insurgency and hoped that the province would emerge victorious in its struggle against extremism. Referring to the development of Mardan, Chief Minister said that dual way Kas Kooruna Pul project would resolve the traffic related problems in the interior city and the multimillion under construction Mardan, Swabi bypass project would usher in an era of prosperity in the region.
