Tesco asks consumers to avoid lavish use of electricity

Chief Executive Officer Tribal Areas Electricity Supply Company (Tesco) Engr Rustam Zad Gul has asked the consumers in Fata to avoid use of air conditioners, local made electric tandoor and other high consuming electric appliances during current summer season as it cause overloading of the power supply system.
According to a press release of the company issued here on Saturday, he said that major cause of load management and low voltage in Fata was lavish use of electricity by the consumers. All the power transformers installed at various grid stations feeding Fata are severely overloaded and putting further load on these transformers can cause major power failure which will increase miseries of the people manifold, said the Chief Executive Officer.
He said that 92 percent of the total consumption is of domestic consumers who were not paying a penny to the company for the electricity they consume adding that smooth power supply can only be ensured in Fata provided the consumers use electricity only for lighting purpose.
