Adviser to the Sindh Chief Minister, Sharmila Farooqui said that the 5 July 1977 would be remembered as a black day in the country's history. During a visit to the Karachi Press Club, she said that on July 5, 1977 a dictator had overthrown an elected government, says a statement on Sunday.
She said that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) had always rendered sacrifices for the cause of democracy in the country. On the occasion, the Adviser gifted 200 chairs and 10 tables to the Karachi Press Club. She also lauded the contributions of the journalists for fostering democracy.
