Government gives top priority to development of Balochistan: Prime Minister

Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that the government attached high priority to the development of Balochistan and would make all out efforts to remove backwardness and bring the province at par with other parts of the country.
The Prime Minister said this while talking to the Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raeesani, who called on him at the PM's House here on Monday. Talking about various development projects initiated by the federal government, the Prime Minister said that these would bring rapid socio-economic development of Balochistan.
The government has not only enhanced the PSDP from Rs 42 billion to Rs 50 billion this year but has also allocated special package of Rs 9 billion besides accorded approval for the utilisation of unspent PSDP funds of the last year, he added. He said that all out effort would be made to explore the untapped hydrocarbon and mineral deposits which are abundance in the province and the government would ensure that its benefit should reach to the people of Balochistan
The Prime Minister said that APC on Balochistan would soon be held and matters are underway to take all the stakeholders on board. The Chief Minister informed the Prime Minister about the ongoing socio-economic development activities being undertaken by the government in Balochistan. He thanked the Prime Minister for allocating adequate funds for Balochistan.-PR
