Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) have urged upon the concerned authorities to set up more centres for distribution of visa debit card as one centre could not cater to the existing needs. Talking to APP here, Farmanullah of Dir said that they were facing acute problem owing to only one distribution point.
He said that he had to wait for two days to get the card, as it was herculean task to find way through such a huge crowd. He urged the government to flush out militants as early as possible and make arrangement for their early return to Dir. Another IDP, Jamil Rehman said that he has 32 family members and has been living in a rented house for the last two months. He said that they belong to cold areas and it was very difficult for them to live in such a harsh and warm weather.
He lauded the local people for the timely support in this hour of trial. Nisar Ali of Swat said that he easily got the card, however, complained that there was no drinking and seating facilities at the distribution centre. He said that they had to leave their business and homes, adding that their families, particularly women and children were suffering.
A widow said that it was too difficult to get the card in such scorching heat and huge rush, adding that they crave for going back to their homes to get rid of this harsh weather. It is pertinent to mention here that distribution of visa debit cards has been started among Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of Malakand division living in various camps and other places of the district.
