Security forces have unearthed and destroyed one explosive laboratory during search operation in Tiligram valley of Swat while many terrorists, including notorious commander Umarzada of Sakhra valley, were killed and 13 other arrested during the ongoing operation "Rah-e-Raast" in Malakand division, besides recovery of huge quantity of arms, ammunition, explosives and other equipment.
The search and clearance operation was conducted in Swat and Malakand during, which the body of most wanted terrorist commander Umarzada was recovered, said a spokesman of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) here on Thursday. He said the security forces had also destroyed seven hideouts and a training centre, including tunnels and bunkers of terrorists during the search operation in Kalagai near Matta and defused seven improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
The spokesman said 12 terrorists were nabbed in search operations at Batkhela town near Malakand. He said that in an IED blast, six soldiers of road clearance party moving from Jani Khel to Sarabangla in Bannu were injured.
The spokesman said that the security forces continued relief activities, as 1,150 tons of rations and other items, had been distributed amongst the IDPs of Malakand. As many as 12,275 cash cards were distributed amongst the IDPs of Malakand. Special permits are being issued to fruit dealers of Swat to carry fruit trucks to Peshawar from July 10 to 12.
