Director Met Office (Sindh) Abdul Rasheed says thunderstorms are likely to continue in Karachi till Wednesday, adding that it will weaken gradually on Thursday. He advised citizens to stay alert and take care during the heavy rain, local media reported.

At least six more people were killed in rain-related incidents in Karachi, bringing the death toll to 24 in the past two days.

The heavy rain started on Monday, piling up problems on Karachiites including power breakdown, traffic snarl-ups, and waterlogging. The downpour on Monday was accompanied by stormy winds, which, too, had caused power outages across the city. Over 300 of its feeders failed, and many localities still facing the power outage.

According to Pakistan Meteorological Department, rain-thunderstorm with gusty winds is expected at scattered places in Sindh (Karachi, MirpurKhas, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sukkur, Larkana divisions), Zhob, Kalat Sargodha, Gujranwala, Lahore divisions, while at isolated places in Multan, D.G khan, Bahawalpur,  Rawalpindi,  Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Mardan divisions, Islamabad, FATA, Kashmir & Gilgit-Baltistan.
