President, Tribal Areas Commerce and Industry (TACCI), Mohammad Akbar Khan advocate has called for the payment of compensation to damaged machinery of the industrial units in Fata and Provincially Administrated Tribal Areas (Pata) due to militancy.
Talking to delegations of businessmen from different tribal agencies of Fata, he demanded of the federal government to compensate the owners of such industrial units in revival. On this occasion, founding president TACCI, Senator Haji Ghulam Ali was also present.
The TACCI Chief called for constitution of a committee comprising of the members of parliament from Fata, tribal elders and representatives of the business community to collect estimates of the losses in the militancy affected areas. He said that the revival of the sick industrial units is inevitable for the elimination of the unemployment in Fata and Pata.
Akbar Khan demanded of the government for the announcement of a special package and exemption of the import of raw industrial material to the area from all kind of taxes for a period of at least 10 years. The meeting was also briefed on the negative impact of the terrorism and uncertain situation in the tribal area on the business activities as well as difficulties and hunger faced by the skilled persons due to the growing unemployment.-PR
