Security forces destroyed three tunnels of terrorists, which were being used as storage facilities for logistic support and armaments, arresting 27 terrorists during the search and clearance phase of the ongoing military operation Rah-e-Raast in Malakand Division. One soldier was martyred and three terrorists have surrendered to security forces.
The search and clearance operations under ongoing military operation Rah-e-Raast is going on in Swat and other parts of Malakand division and security forces have attained success in clearing large area from terrorists, said a spokesman of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) here on Tuesday.
The spokesman said that the security forces have traced three tunnels at Rampatai near Bar Shaur area of Swat Valley, which were being used by terrorists as storage facility for logistics, ration and armaments. The tunnels were destroyed, he said, adding that security forces have also arrested five supporters of terrorists during a raid. He said that the security forces have arrested 15 terrorists during a search operation in Biha Valley of Swat, while two terrorists were arrested in the operation in Madiyan near Chaprial area of Swat Valley.
He said that the security forces during a search operation in Darmai village of Swat have inflicted heavy loss on terrorists in a skirmish. One soldier was martyred in the clash with terrorists, he added. Two terrorists have voluntarily surrendered to security forces at Khairarai area of Swaty, the spokesman said, adding that the security forces conducted search operation at Batkhela and arrested five suspected terrorists.
