Jashn-e-Azadi celebrated with fervour in Hyderabad

Likewise other parts of the country 62nd Jashn-e-Azadi was celebrated with great zeal, enthusiasm and national fervour in Hyderabad district. The day was dawn with the special pray for the solidarity, integrity and prosperity of the nation. Almost all the government and private buildings were decorated with illuminations while the government and non-government organisations held functions at various places.
The main national flag hoisting ceremony was organised by the district government Hyderabad at the Zila Nazim Secretariat, where the Zila Nazim Hyderabad Kanwar Naveed Jameel hoisted the national flag as chief guest. The Zila Naib Nazim Hyderabad Zaffar Rajput, DCO Hyderabad, Aftab Ahmed Khatri, DPO Hyderabad Javed Alam Odho also addressed the ceremony.
The Zila Nazim Hyderabad Kanwar Naveed Jameel in his address, while recalling the sacrifices of elders of the nation, which they rendered for the independence of Muslims of subcontinent, stressed upon the people to work hard with the sincerity not only to retain their independence but also to make Pakistan as a welfare state.
He paid rich tributes to the Heroes of Pakistan movement and also asked the teaching community to make the young generation as familiar about the struggle of Pakistan. Later, the Zila Nazim Hyderabad Kanwar Naveed Jameel distributed the Awards, cash prices, shields and certificates among the students on their best performances and other distinguishing personalities for their outstanding performances in different fields.
The second important function to mark the Independence Day was held at the Sindh Museum Hyderabad where the Provincial Culture Department organised a pictorial exhibition at the Zaffar Kazmi Arts and Craft Gallery under the title of "Pakistan Khapay." The Provincial Minister for Culture Sassui Palijo inaugurated the exhibition.
Talking to the media on this occasion, she said that PPP was striving hard to convert the Pakistan into a peaceful and welfare state according to the wishes of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah. She said that at present there is need to promote the tolerance and brotherhood among the people.
Pakistan is a country where people belonging to different religions, colour and caste were living and they all have the rights to enjoy equally, she added. She said that it was the PPP which not only representing the all groups of people residing in Pakistan but also has gave un-matching sacrifices to protect the rights of the people without any discrimination.
She said that due to wrong policies of previous dictators, Pakistani was passing from sensitive period of terrorism and now when we have been succeeded to have democracy, should committed ourselves, to play vital role for the solidarity and stability of Pakistan.
She lauded the efforts of the students of Centre for Excellence Arts and Design Mehran University Jamshoro for displaying meaningful and impressive paintings, pictures in the exhibition. Later, Provincial Minister for Culture visited the Allama Daudpota Library where she inaugurated Book Fair which was arranged by the management concerned to mark Independence Day.
She lauded the efforts of Syed Sajid Shah and other staff members of Library for facilitating the readers even in odd hours. Similarly, a flag hoisting ceremony was also held at Public School Hyderabad where the Chairman Board of Governors Public School Hyderabad Professor Abdul Hameed Memon was the chief guest. He said that the defence of our country was prime subject as we have achieved independence with great sacrifices.
