PML-N Secretary General, Iqbal Zafar Jhagra on Friday said it was imperative to remove the element of mistrust among the people of various areas to create national unity for a strong and stable federation. Talking to a private television channel, he said it was a bitter reality that social division among the people of various areas and various schools of thought had widened during the past six decades.
"There is a dire need to pay serious attention to address the issues which help promote such feelings," the PML-N leader said adding, there existed whole potential for Pakistan to become the strongest country in the region. If serious attention was paid to the solution of such issues, Pakistanis would be one of the greatest nations on world map, he said.
One of the most important steps to create national unity was the provision of autonomy to the province under the 1973's Constitution, he said adding, it would guarantee the national unity. To a question, he said on the basis of ground realities, the sense of deprivation among the people of Balochistan was natural and genuine.
If the people of some area were kept deprived of their due rights, they would feel disappointed and their trust in the federation would be shattered and it would be inappropriate to blame them for it. "We still have the time to bring the people of Balochistan in the mainstream by addressing their genuine issues," he observed.
