Zardari to visit China from August 21

President Asif Ali Zardari will pay an official visit to two provinces of China, the major trading partners of Pakistan from August 21. Pakistan Ambassador to China, Masood Khan making announcement of President Zardari's August 21-25 visit at a press conference here on Friday said that President will start his China visit from Hangzhou, the capital city of Zhe Jiang province from where he will proceed to Guangzhou, the capital of Guang Dong province.
Masood Khan replying to a question, said that President Zardari had already met with the Chinese top central leaderships during his previous visits. He said that President Zardari in February this year visited Hubei province and also Shanghai. "This time the President is visiting two important provinces, the Guang Dong and Zhe Jiang", he noted.
With these two provinces, Ambassador Khan said that Pakistan has the largest trade partnership. He further elaborated that the largest trade volume of import and export with Pakistan is Guang Dong province, while the second largest business partner is the Zhe Jiang. The President is visiting to further explore the possibilities of trade and economic co-operation as well as inviting Chinese to bolster further their investment in Pakistan from these two provinces, he observed.
Other areas to focus are to seek co-operation of Chinese researchers, academies, institutions and various corporations in the fields of agriculture, water conservancy, small and medium seized dams and high efficiency irrigation system.
"Pakistan and China already have strong relations, and we would like to strengthen these bonds of friendship during this visit ", Masood Khan maintained.
Ambassador Masood pointed that to attract Chinese investors and entrepreneurs to Pakistan, the President will also address business seminars in these two provinces. Ambassador Khan said that Pakistan and China maintain strong friendship, and these solid relations were supported not only by the top leadership of both sides, but also by the people of the two countries.
"It is in that context, the President of Pakistan is visiting again', Masood Khan said adding that President Zardari's frequent visits to China demonstrate his strongest commitments to our relations with our neighbouring country China.
Masood Khan said that China has scaled new heights, and it is poised to become a stronger and more powerful player on international horizon. Ambassador Masood said that Pakistan has the privileged to have close association with China.
Meanwhile, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Jiang Yu has also announced that at the invitation of the Chinese Government, President Asif Ali Zardari of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan will visit Hangzhou and Guangzhou from August 21 to 25.
