16 Aug, 2009

Prices fell modestly on the wholesale grain and seed market on Saturday in an effort to bring down prices by the government, dealers said. On the cereal side makai was down by Rs 100 to Rs 1375-1400 in process of slow trading, sugar lost Rs 150 to Rs 4900 and gur also followed the same pattern, losing Rs 100 to Rs 6300-7000, other commodity items maintained the last levels, they said.
On the seed side only one change was seen on the seed side as cottonseed oilcake with bag shed Rs 25 to Rs 1050 due to strong arrivals, they said. Rice and grams sectors did not move any side due to balanced demand and supply position, they added.
