Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 233,908 tonnes of cargo including 164,084 tonnes import and 69,824 tonnes export cargo including 4,252 empty and loaded containers during last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The cargo comprised of 179,469 tonnes dry cargo including 100,545 tonnes containerised and general cargo; 11,610 tonnes fertiliser; 45,796 tonnes coal; 21,518 tonnes cement and 54,439 tonnes oil/liquid cargo.
Thirteen ships namely Moondance, MT Johar, OOCL Osaka, Strilen, Utopia Ace, Cap George, Nardos, Kota Lambai, Merlin, Red Sea Spirit, Queen Arrow-II, E R Darwin and Gulf Tiger sailed out to sea during the report period.
Thirteen vessels viz Cap George, Kota Lambai, E R Darwin, Olympia, Hansa Liberty, LTC Calvin P. Titus, Merlin, Al-Salamat, Aann, Ajax, Utopia Ace, Al-Soor-II and Al-Marwah are currently at the berths. Two ships namely Hansa Liberty and Olympia expected to sail on Monday, while another two vessels viz LTC Calvin P. Titus and Northern Divinity are expected to sail on Tuesday. Manon due to arrive on Monday, while five ships namely Sapphire T, Ninos, Cape Sable, MCP Villach and Inlaco are due to arrive on Tuesday.

The cargo comprised of 11,342 tonnes crude oil; 9,546 tonnes iron ore; 3,073 tonnes cement and 50,859 tonnes containerised cargo. Four ships namely MT Indradi, MV Leopard-B, CV MSC Magali and MT Quetta sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while another ship namely CV Pangal is expected to sail on Monday.
A total of six vessels viz Saudi Tabuk, Maersk Carolina, Nostos, Benefactor, Prince Jasmine and Orient-II scheduled to load/offload containers, furnace oil, canola seeds and cement are currently at the outer anchorage. Seven ships namely CV MSC Magali, CV Pangal, MV Oriental Moon, MV Shebelle, MV Leopard-B, MT Quetta and MV Suryawati are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, cement, crude oil and iron ore respectively during last 24 hours.
Three ships namely CV Maersk Carolina, MV Prince Jasmine and MT Nostos scheduled to load/offload containers, cement and furnace oil are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, MW-2 and Fotco Terminal respectively on Monday. Three vessels viz CV Nedlloyed Europa, CV ACX Jasmine and MT Pertiwi carrying containers and palm oil due to arrive on Monday.
