The representatives of Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (Aptma), and Pakistan Tanners Association (PTA) in a meeting with Punjab Chief Minister suggested formation of 'Industry-police liaison committee' (IPLC) in the province.
PTA Chairman Saiddain suggested to the Chief Minister that to control crimes like murder, kidnapping for ransom and decoties formation of IPLC "is the best solution". He suggested that major industrial units be connected with a hotline with police department. He said that it was better to control this menace at initial stage, otherwise it would have irreparable loss to the country. Khurshid Alam, Vice Chairman of PTA, and members of LCCI and Aptma also agreed to the suggestion and requested the CM to pass on orders for early formation of IPLC.
The Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Tariq Saleem Dogar, Home Secretary, Commissioner, Lahore Khusro Pervaiz, and DIGP Sheikhupura Dr Arif were also present in the meeting. The Chief Minister asked the meeting participants to immediately submit a detailed report with regard to the formation of IPLC.
