A total 130,471 bags of flour had been distributed at the subsidised price of Rs 200/- per 20-kg bag in four districts of Faisalabad division during the last three days under the Special Ramazan Package. This was informed by Divisional Commissioner, Tahir Hussain, while talking to newsmen, here on Friday.
He said comprehensive arrangements had been made for the smooth distribution of flour on cheaper price. He said 89,580 bags of flour had been sold at discounted price in Faisalabad district, 11,331 bags in T. T. Singh, 15,798 in Jhang and 13,762 bags in Chiniot district during the last three days.
He said flour was also being provided for sale at reduced price in 33 'Ramazan Sastay Bazaar' of the Faisalabad division, while the subsidised four was also selling at 56 trucking points in the division. Low-income areas and colonies of industrial workers were being given priority for the purpose.
The Commissioner maintained that the Punjab government had allocated a daily quota of 689 ton wheat for Faisalabad, 89 ton for T.T., Singh and 240 ton for district Jhang and Chiniot. He said DCOs of the four districts, Deputy Director Food and District Food Controllers had been asked to ensure transparent and disciplined distribution of subsidised flour.
