Mill-owners versus labour class: six-member body set up to resolve disputes

Commissioner, Punjab Social Security Institution (PSSI), Captain Sher Alam Mehsud (Retd) has constituted a 6-member committee to solve the problems being confronted by mill-owners and labour class in Faisalabad with regard to Social Security. Addressing the Members of FCCI, he said that the Committee will comprise 3 representatives of FCCI, 2 Directors Recovery of PSSI and a nominee of the local labour leaders.
He said that the committee would shortly hold a meeting to consider the disputed cases of Social Security and submit its recommendations for immediate solution of these disputed cases. Commissioner PSSI said that the adequate funds for test of City Scanning and Hepatitis will be provided for Social Security Hospital, Faisalabad, in consultation with its Medical Superintendent.
Earlier, Seth Mehmood Akbar, acting President FCCI, while presenting an address of welcome told that a number of Factories and Business Establishments have ceased their work due to slump and have sold out the land of their Factories and Establishments to potent Buyers who have constructed Plazas and Big Markets there but the PSSI instead of issuing recovery notices to the old Owners have served recovery notices to the new owners, which should immediately be stopped.
The Commissioner PSSI assured that justice will be provided in this respect and the committee will take notice of this anomaly and suggest relief in such cases. At termination of the meeting, the Vice President FCCI, Mian Zafar Iqbal, awarded a Shield to Commissioner PSSI.
