Mustafa Kamal addresses city wardens

Nazim Karachi, Syed Mustafa Kamal has asked the City Wardens to work with greater responsibility during Ramazan-ul-Mubarak and help control the traffic as well as lend their co-operation to the citizens at the places of Travih prayers and business and commercial centres. Specially, he directed them to perform their responsibilities at mahor shopping centres and business areas.
He was addressing them at "Bara Khana" for them here on Saturday night. Mustafa Kamal said that the work which Haq Parast leadership did during the last four years is a role model and instead of publicity and banners display, showed practical work.
'Our vision is only to work and serve people so that people can be provided life time facilities.' He said that legally it is our right to protect our properties and development projects and, therefore, the system of city wardens was introduced for the protection of our properties and control the traffic besides serving the people.
He said this idea was opposed at every level, but since our intentions were clean, we succeeded and today City Warden department has come into being and serving the people without any discrimination. 'I am proud that wardens are serving the people with all sincerity and people too are acknowledging it.'
Mustafa Kamal said that people do not trust the government organisations but their trust in the city wardens is our test and we will have to work more now. He announced that necessary resources would gradually be provided to city wardens department. However, the wardens to discharge their duties with responsibility, courteously and with good attitude.
He made it clear that empty handed wardens don't cause harm to any one and rather they don't sleep in the nights and helps the citizens in rains, emergencies and accidents like the Haq Parasts so that people could live in peace at their homes. 'Our this attitude, converted opposition into recognition and this is our success.'
Nazim advised the City Wardens to demonstrate an exemplary discipline, be courteous to people, respect them and keep themselves away from ills and discharge their duties not as a job but as a service and set such examples of image building and services that may force the other city and district governments to follow your suit and establish this department.
He pointed out that as compared to previous years, a lot of facilities are available with the construction of signal-free corridors. But this year, best examples of service are to be established. Speaking on the occasion Chief of City Wardens Azhar Hashmi said today is a day of thanks giving that now city wardens have been regularised.
He said a schedule of service during the month of Ramazan has been prepared and city wardens will serve the people with greater spirits. Later, EDO Municipal Services showed the nazim, the Headquarter of City Wardens and gave a briefing. The Nazim gave a cash prize of Rs 5,000 to City Warden Hafiz Abdul Rasheed who recited the Holy Qura'an.
