Six people died and two more were missing in north-eastern Bangladesh after a boat sank during stormy weather, a police officer said on Wednesday. The small boat, carrying villagers home across a marshy swamp, sank late Tuesday evening, police chief Akkas Uddin Bhuiyan told AFP.
"We have recovered the bodies of five women and one child, but a woman and a child are still missing. Seventeen people swam to shore," he said.
