IIU, SBU to exchange students, faculty staff

The International Islamic University (IIU) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the State University of New York at Stony Brook, United State of America (SBU) for exchange of students, faculty and administrative staff.
The MoU was signed by IIU President Dr Anwar Hussain Siddiqui and SBU New York President Jr. M.D Samuel Stanley, during recent visit of Dr Siddiqui to the US. Both the institutions signed the MoU in recognition of their common interests in developing bilateral relations and co-operation between institutes of higher learning contributing to cultural enrichment, scientific progress, and the consolidation of friendship, said a press release here.
Both sides decided that instructional and cultural programmes, specific mechanisms for the implementation of co-operative and collaborative activities would be established. The MoU will be valid for a period of five years and at the end of each term, it will be automatically renewed by mutual agreement for an additional term of five year. Meanwhile, Dr Mohammad Sher of the IIU has been given best university teacher award by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) for playing an important role in enhancing the academic atmosphere during the year 2008.
