Mme Josyane Lanthier was decorated with the most prestigious and coveted French civil award, "La Légion d'Honneur" by Pierre Seillan, Consul General of France in recognition of her exceptional services in the field of education. Since last 23 years, Josyane Lanthier, a French national is working in Pakistan.
She and her husband, Daniel Lanthier have done pioneering work in the educational sector and helped establish Family Educational Services Foundation (FESF). FESF is a non-profit educational volunteer organisation whose mission is to enhance the quality of life for all members of society, especially those who are disadvantaged or handicapped. FESF has its head office in Karachi and branches in Hyderabad and Lahore.
THEY RUN THREE PROJECTS:
Deaf Reach: Schools and Training Centers in Karachi, Hyderabad and Lahore. Using a holistic approach, Deaf Reach provides academic and skills training in a variety of fields, assisting the Deaf to develop their inherent gifts and talents and to realise their full potential.
Via their "Job Placement Program" they provide older deaf students assistance in obtaining gainful employment. Eduserve Training Program: Educational Seminars and Workshops; Youth Leadership Development. The mandate of the Eduserve program is to strengthen the educational infrastructure by training teachers, administrators, parents and youth.
Towards this end they conduct in-depth courses in the field of education, child development and leadership. The Youth Leadership program focuses on cultivating young leaders, instilling in them a sense of community involvement and volunteerism.
